Sarah is a Canadian lawyer with a diverse background and a strong commitment to both her legal profession and her community, both locally and internationally. Sarah earned her Bachelor of Laws and Civil Law degree from the University of Ottawa and was called to the bar in 2011.
Sarah has a dual practice, where in Canada, she has developed a substantial litigation experience in immigration and worked as a Prosecutor on regulatory and quasi-criminal law matters. Sarah has a specialization in international humanitarian law, where she acquired an extensive profile working for the United Nations (UNDP, ILO and UNRWA) and the International Committee of the Red Cross, deployed in over 10 countries. Sarah has also worked at the prosecution office at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia, commonly known as the Cambodia Tribunal or Khmer Rouge Tribunal, a court established to try the senior leaders and the most responsible members of the Khmer Rouge for alleged violations of international law and serious crimes perpetrated during the Cambodian genocide.
Sarah’s personal experience with immigration to Canada as a child adds a unique dimension to her practice. Her firsthand knowledge of the challenges and opportunities associated with immigration make her more compassionate and understanding of her clients' situations. She is proud to serve her clients in English, French, Spanish, Arabic and functional Portuguese.
Sarah is committed to social justice and her community through regular volunteer work at her local food bank and continues to undertake short missions with the International Committee of the Red Cross.
